All tables and chairs seat chattering folks
In talk that ranges from debates to jokes;
Scents of brewing and baking all around.
A meek, old couple engaging in Scrabble
While two, young babes persistently babble;
Hot drinks – mere pretext for smiles to be found.
Familiar faces rushing by outside
As calm within is allowed to abide;
Coffee and tea: our emblems of reprieve.
I lift my mug once more, tipping it dry,
Having let enough of my day drift by;
From such relaxing scenes, we all must leave.
